I'm wondering if they are any use. It's something that's appealing to me... in theory. Can they be used to not get lost while walking in the Lake District for example? Or are there just street maps in there, car style? Do you usually have to subscribe to a service? What are your general impressions? Cheers!
got the iphone, it's not really any good once you are off the beaten track to be honest, it uses google maps or google earth so needs a data enable phone connection too to get the mapping info. I tried using in during the yorkshire 3 peaks but it was no good
my old 95 had proper gps but it cained the battery and if you used it you would be without a phone for most of the day. iphone much better on that respect but not used it for maps in rural areas yet.
Cheers for the heads up guys It doesn't sound like the technology is quite there yet. Maybe I'll just get a standalone Garmin thing.
budmustang is americana so yeah... sort of! But no, you're right... I hang my head in shame. "Ta fo' sooertin mi art" that should have read.
