    Aylott's goal V Man City ......

.... what a moment that was - I had been in the ground since 5.30pm and when that goal went in I can't remember anything but a wall of noise for ages. Oakwell was stacked that night (35k attendance ?)

What strikes me is the way our fans celebrated those goals. They look as though they are having the time of their lives - and as I was at all these games I assure anyone who wasn't that we were - if that makes sense! ................maybe the advent of all seater grounds has quelled such enthusiastic celebrations?.....................alternatively, maybe we have never a team to rival that one and thus not as much to celebrate about or as passionately about?

Nice to see Phil Chambers again, very underrated player, turned Man Utd down to sign for us, That makes him a top guy in my book. How many times did we see Glavin getting in front od the attackers?, if the midfielders did that today they would get hauled off and dropped for neglecting their defensive duties.

Thing is, Glavin was everywhere. Compiling the video I have been amazed by how many tackles he put in in front of the back four, last ditch blocks in the area, bringing the ball out of defence robbing attackers... might not be what he was known for, but the footage is there.

How good does a simple white - with red trim - shirt and black shorts look for an away kit?

.....be my first choice for away colours everytime.

    I wonder

Would fans get stopped these days for entering the ground with a bog roll due to Health & Safety reasons? I'd pretty much forgotten about the flying rolls when goals were scored!

Absolutely wonderful , thank you .

I especially enjoyed Mike Lester's goal at Hillsborough . Brilliant finish after a superb pass from God .
