are you watching it. Got to say i find this very interesting. That about the asian players his shocking to me.
If there is something worth watching on it then yes. Is there a particular programme that you're referring to?
It's the Clarke Carlisle racism in football doc. It was going well but has just lost all credibility by stating "John Barnes is one of the greatest footballers England has produced".
John Barnes couldn't get another job in football because he is black. Nowt to do with the fact that he was ****ing useless.
Quotas?? Loads of ********. I'd be interested to know how many black men have applied for the manager's job at Oakwell since Anderson was sacked.
"Sub-conscious, passive racism". It's rife apparently. The people interviewing for managerial jobs aren't not giving it to black people because they are black but because they think they aren't good enough. Fair enough. BUT if those people look inside why do they think they aren't good enough? It obviously can't be proved because it is in their heads but it is definitely happening.
No not watching but judging by some of the posts I would have been hitting the channel switch button.
Tenner says that people like Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Ledley King and even Carlisle himself will bang on about the lack of black managers but not one of them will do their pro license.
It amazes me when John Barnes gets used in the racism in football debate like it gives the argument that football is racist some kind of credibility when it actually does the opposite. He has to be one of the worst managers of the modern era.
Was Anderson sacked? I always thought he bottled it and went running to his mate Bryan at Middlesbrough before he was found out . . . .
I think you're right. I'm pretty sure he resigned as manager and went up to be number two at Middlesbrough.
He resigned, and we even got compo! Big JD was on the verge of sacking him and couldn't believe his luck.
Doesn't that sum it up, they have to interview John Barnes (who was not a very good manager) because there are so few black managers/former managers out there. The sexism in football documentary had the same flaw in that it relied on Karen Brady who isn't very good. But that same flaw, the fact that there was only her to interview, served to prove the level of sexism in football
Maybe they should ask the scores of black players who applied for manager's jobs and didn't even get an interview to come forward. I wonder how many black ex-players have their pro license??
