How the growth of phytoplankton along the coastal waters of Alaska and British Columbia attracts a vast array of marine life to feast on billions of herring. Humpback whales migrating from Hawaii as well as Steller sea lions, dolphins and killer whales make the long and arduous journey toward the abundant fish, risking malnutrition and attacks from predators along the way. Last in the series, narrated by David Attenborough.

 

Great but the one other week with the sardines being eaten by dolphins, sharks and gannets at the same time was the best nature programme i have seen. That was just amazing

 

Especially the swimming gannets.

 

That sounds like a scene from Blue Planet

...and yes, I thought that was the best thing that has ever been televised. One big bait ball being attacked from all angles and then eventually a ruddy great whale comes up from the depth and gobbles the lot.

 

That's what was on last night

I sat through it most of the time with my jaw in my lap - awesome.

 

It's worth getting HD, just for that.
