Is it just me or are there not a realistic amount of goals?

Had numerous 0-0 and 1-0 games, even in pre-season despite playing an attacking formation.

One game I had 3 shots to 1, with only one on target all game between the sides.

If it'd been Barnsley, fair enough, but I'm playing as Man City and have Robinho, Arshavin, Huntelaar, Jo and Wagner Love!

I have NOT played it, but I have a question...

How's the new FM (2009) different from FM 2008 for example?
Are there some interesting new features that make it worth buying, or is it mostly just updated teams and players for the new season?

I started playing FM again after a long break when FM 2006 came out, I played it for quite a while and then got FM 2008 last Xmas... I noticed that the game hadn't changed much during those two years (the media comments were fun though) so I was quite disappointed with it.

    Apparently there are 3D highlights...

But they don't seem to be on the demo which is disappointing.

Media has gone crazy, you now have press conferences before and after games where journalists from loads of papers and websites ask you stuff - pretty realistic too like how you'll cope without an injured player, transfer rumours etc, and I get the impression that you will build up rapports or otherwise over time.

You can tell individual players to try certain tricks in games, or what not to do... for example look to round the goalkeeper, shoot from long range etc.

    The 2D highlights are better.

I've only played a few games and it will need a patch as there are some errors on the demo, but it looks pretty good.

One thing that does pee me off

Is the amount of injuries you get. Its about 4 per game and not for a week its for 2 months etc.

Define 'realistic' in a football management game, or in football full stop for that matter...

What next - Barnsley knocking out both Liverpool and Chelsea en route to an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley...? Oh, wait.

It's turning round a bit now, though the injuries just get worse

Won at Goodison and Anfield but 3 or 4 more players out for 2 months, good job I've a huge squad.

Deffo a problem with injuries, went through a few squads and they all had 3 or 4 long term absentees after just 7 games of the season.

Seems to be ok to me mate, only problem i have had was that it crashed once on me when i forgot to save the game. 3d graphics are starting to grow on me now, wasn't a fan at first, the new press conference style is ok but gets a bit tedius after a while so i just send my assistant now.</p>

    Haha

    Depends who you ask.

If they were from the club's own radio station they could be interpreted to be.
