Worked there a few years ago before coming to leeds and working at Leeds Ventura Its not bad for pocket money...
When I worked at Morphy Richards... ...just "down road" from you, a lot there left to go and work at Ventura (we're talking 97/98-ish when call-centres began to blight the South Yorkshire landscape). I've worked in a few call-centres (including Ventura) and a few factories - both provided mind-numbing, demoralising activity although one paid slightly better than the other. Morphy Richards, however, no matter how **** the job was, provided some dignity - at least bonuses weren't paid on the basis of how many pensioners you'd lied to that day and the work, whatever its shortfallings, was honest. I walked out of Ventura after about three weeks - one of the only jobs I've ever struggled with (and I've had a lot of jobs) and, to be honest, I'm glad I couldn't do what they expected me to do. Sell, sell, sell, was the mantra and if that meant cheat, cheat, cheat to do it they didn't give a **** provided you sold... Avoid it like the plague...
