Been to 5 of Ionian Islands

Corfu, Kefalonia, Zante, Lefkada and Meganissi.

For the most part Kefalonia is quiet, peaceful and very friendly where the locals will do anything for you but that can be said of most Greek Islands. Lassi is a bit livelier but not in the same sense of Kavos (Corfu)& Lagana (Zante). Depends on what you want, if you want an idyllic setting with a bit of life but not too rowdy then I'd suggest either Nidri on Lefkada which is the best place I've been on the Ionian islands or Tsilivi (Zante)which is a bit livelier but not over the top.If you just want to chill out, go walking and lounge about on quiet beaches then Kefalonia would be ideal.

    Nice one.

Actually going on Tuesday. Just wanted to know what to expect. It looks right nice.

There's been forest fires recently and hotels evacuated. Best have calmed down.

    Where are you staying?

Stayed in Svoronata, which was just a 2 restaurant, 1 bar and 1 shop village but very relaxing, then in Scala which has a lot more there without being overly commercial.
Recommend going on an Island tour and visiting Fiskardo on the northern tip of the island which was the only part relatively unaffected by the earthquake in the 1950's, also Sami is worth a trip on an evening

    RE: Where are you staying?

We're staying in Scala in a hotel called the nine muses.

That's useful cheers. I'll be checking Sami out.

Nine muses looks quality, just across road from beach

Fancied staying there but it's a "no children" hotel, if I go again with new woman I'll look to stay there.., we were just a little further along at Melidron apartments.

Try The Pines restaurant just as you go into the centre, we ate there almost every night, tried working our way through the menu! Even got free dessert on 2 evenings as they remembered us....not that we really wanted the dessert as the portions were so big anyway!

It does look really nice, and the location looks perfect. Well I'll let you know what it's like when we get back anyway so you know if you go again.

Cheers, I'll try and remember the name of that cos it's only bed n breakfast so we'll have to find a good place to eat.

    You won't miss Pines

As you walk from your hotel into the centre it's just as you get to the main street, on the corner.
