one of englands best preformances since 5-1 v germany and most of the nation doesn't get to see it coz the money grapping fa have sold the rights to the match to setanta, and they wounder why interest in the national game is falling
ere ere!!!!!!!!!! cant afford pub prices to watch it............. then again i do drink far too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should it have been on Sky? Same arguments were trotted out when Sky bought test match cricket coverage.
apparently less than 1.5 million watched the last one ridiculous for the national team other things should be considered beyond money, such as not awarding rights to the channel with the lowest subscriber base
Don't know the full facts behind the deal But you are right it is not on. I want to watch my national team on a big flat screen TV, not on a a laptop monitor, and certainly not on a Chinese satellite channel with commentary that tells me what happened before I saw it. Absolute disgrace.
I don't recall.... ....were all Englands games broadcast in the 70s? I remember watching some but not all (doesn't mean they weren't all broadcast tho').
too right........fa shouldnt sell out........its not about cash surely...........its about number of fans that get to see the national team play and dont even get me started on players gettin paid to play on international duty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To follow that to it's conclusion then... The FA should give the rights to terrestrial, is that what you suggest?
Hate to let the facts get in the way of a good moan... but it's up to the Croatian FA who gets the TV rights and they simply opted for the highest bidder. That's not to say it shouldn't also be protected like england home games are.
Good idea! Like the FA cup Final, England games, should be live on BBC or ITV. I've just spent half the night jumping from one rubbish site to another whilst it breaks up.
Dunno mate I think the main competitive games were transmitted, from memory, but maybe not the friendlies. I do remember watching the home internationals after the end of every domestic season. I'm old enough to remember the 1966 world cup as a kid which was obviously only on normal TV (in black and white I think!!!!). The whole country was talking about it, because they had all seen it - difficult to compare though because obviously there was no satellite/cable/murdoch in those days. And yes, the cricket should be on too.
Boo! Who wants facts?!! I want my tea, that's what I want - flippin starving! If it'd have been on BBC I'd have been able to watch it in my kitchen whilst rustling up something to eat. That's a fact! Instead it's ten o clock & I'm ravenous.
