KH is undoubtedly expecting abuse. Let's throw him off the scent by either; a)chanting Keith Hill's Red and White Army or b) Ignoring him and getting behind the Reds like never before...
Dont understand why anyone should even think about option (a). There should only be option (b) Surely ?
I personally don't think Keef will get involved in any banter pre match. But I'm expecting him to go to town if they win. We'll see..
My self imposed away-day exile begins on Saturday so I won't be there but in all honesty I think I would rather be kicked in the nuts than go with option A, however ironic it was supposed to be.
Hilly will be very low key before and after the game - just another game to him. The players will want to win it for him more than ever though I imagine - and us fans.
I never understand why football fans feel the need to taunt the opposing fans, teams, players etc, when that energy could as easily be used to get behind your own team. I find it a little sad how some people are still infatuated with Keith Hill. It's almost 2 years since he left. Time to move on, let go and get behind Danny and the lads.
Hill didn't leave here under particularly nasty or controversial circumstances - there wasn't any great call at games for him to go. He himself said he considers our owner a friend. Not quite sure where all this antagonism comes from.
They pay to go to the match, they can do that if they feel like it. Professional football players shouldn't need fans chanting to be motivated on the field to do the best they can.
All true. But I think he's a right lovely person. If there are two matches I want us to win this season more than any other they are the games against Rochdale. I could be in for some disappointment...
Personally I think Hill (when here) was reacting to the restrictions he was working under v the demands of The Championship. Some of the stuff he said was daft (insulting re 'history') but he was BFC's manager - it sends you crackers.
doesn't mean owt to me either tbh. but that's probably more because i don't really care that much at the minute
Jay, that cannot be true! It was only me that didn`t like Hill ! Ask Whitey, everyone else loved him !
thereev's advice is to not go and instead tune in to 'Just got back' five minutes after the final whistle here on the bbs! hth
Don't make me delve into the archive and embarrass folk. I admit he was a lovely person, at times. Always said that. But I think he was a good manager, but was possibly the right man at the wrong time. He'd have been ideal this season, building a squad. He's built a better one than ours, and spent not a penny in comparison to us.
He is better off at Rochdale, good luck to him there but he was/is/never will be the right man for Barnsley FC.
They shouldn't, no. But it does help. Or at least, that's what am told by professional footballers. That it's much easier/better to play football in a good atmosphere with the fans in good voice, whereas it can be difficult if the atmosphere is dead or negative. I'd agree with em. I find it better at work when we're all in good spirits, with management onside, rather than picking at everything. But then, Keith always said the crowd and the flavour of the atmosphere had an effect on team performances, and he got hammered for saying so. If Danny comes out and says it, nobody would bat an eyelid.
Agree to disagree. He got a lot right here. But then, I've explained all this before. Got stuff wrong n all. As you say, good luck to him, but so far in this second spell Danny's doing worse.
