Can't possibly happen. If ever a CEO wished to alienate the fan base inside his first 12 months.......appointing Appleton would do it. This article is based simply on Mansford previously being Appleton's agent. Nowt else to it.
Can I jump in mr detox? I've changed my thought process and am going for a marriage made in heaven......Cricket Jim as Manager and Whitey as Assistant.
To be honest Andy is hard to argue with tomfun's exclusive photograph...he's clearly been shown around oakwell earlier.
No idea. Seriously. But Mellon is in pole position after last night. And with a 51% win percentage, he's streets ahead of Appleton. I can only think of Danny Wilson, Tony Mowbray and Gary Megson otherwise, in terms of successful managers at this level that we could attract. I'd take any of those three, but would be happy with Mellon if last nights performance can be regularly repeated.
That's the second post in which you've said that, Whitey. Why are you so confident that Appleton won't get the job? (I also don't think he will get the job, but I'm just basing this on my feelings).
Just think everything points against it. He's the ex client of Mansford. He's known for jumping ship quite quickly. We fans are against it. Here's his record in management: Games 79 Won 19 Drawn 25 Lost 35 Win% 24.05 Here's Mellon's: Games 225 Won 116 Drawn 58 Lost 51 Win% 51.56 (not including last night) Mellon is a far better candidate. So why would the BFC board even consider Appleton? Hence my faith in what I was told last night. He's not a candidate.
Why is Appleton in high regard tho?.....he's had good jobs....is it who he knows? Just don't get it, what if he comes here and he becomes a top manager?
