Maybe They Are Getting Them Because..........

    * It's the only day they can get down due to other commitments?
    * They want to get seats near them for their friends?
    * They are going down anyway for Norwich, QPR or Wendy tickets?

Remember that if people didn't panic and everyone left it till later, the panic at the end would be worse than it is now.

I take it a proper job

Is only one which involves working Monday-Friday 9-5?

Anyway - given the opening hours outside those times it's just as well those people are going now rather than on Saturday!

would you care to define a "ProperJob" please ??

my job involves me working some saturdays and getting a rest day in the week on a rotating basis...so I guess thats not a Proper Job" then.... do YOU have a "Proper Job " ??

maybe some of those now queueing are people who have a day off or perhaps shift workers...or maybe even on a holliday week.... but I guess they are not "Proper Jobs" when that kinda carry on happens.

I reckon people enjoy the occasion of it

It makes everything seem more important and exciting. Would be a bit underwhelming to just stroll into the office and buy a ticket without queuing (and moaning) first.

    or even flexitime

'fortunate' you could call it, but 'proper' it remains. Plenty of reasons why people can get there in the week, it's the ones who can't that have the problem - the club need to find a better way to cater for both.

well sunday opening might have helped, and an extra late night too.

with the amount the club will make off this cup run I am sure the box office staff wages for the sunday, and maybe one more late night opening, would not even scratch that profit.

If they're only getting through about15% of season ticket holders per day

When they're at absolutely full tilt then you're going to find that we'll all be queueing at some point.

RE: If they're only getting through about15% of season ticket holders per day

That is exactly what I have been thinking. They have sold 2.2k tickets in 2 days. Call it 1k per day. 17k to sell. They are in trouble. There will be queues everyday. They have got to get on top of it. Sunday opening was a must. And Saturday all day.

15% per day so 6 days 95% sold i.e. all sold by next thurs

Not meant to be on general sale until a week tomorrow. That gives another 5 working days to sell the remaining 5,000 or so. [img=http://www.isfym.com/Site2006archive/32B8D698-8FA3-437D-BE2B-58E7351C8FC3_files/DontPanic.jpg]

    Like I said

We'll all have to queue at some point. Working at full tilt they might just get them all sold by next Thursday, but that involves everyone who goes having to do some substantial queueing.

    how many season ticket holders?

    is there 1500 centenary members?

assuming 75% take up of priority allocation

thats abart 11,500 tickets so 4k on general sale

If there's 100% take up by ST holders and centenary members

thats abart 2k on general sale
