Are there any BBS goers that are designers (ideally web designers) or developers ?

    And would you be interested in helping me on a project for the club? It would have to be on a voluntary basis of course but the income and new business it could generate would go some way to providing an income stream for the club that could go towards scoreboard and/or players that was discussed last night.

    Its only at the idea stage at the moment and anything we did would have to be vetoed by the club (but i think its a good idea). Im just getting a bit of a feel for the depth of resources we might have on here because i don't think id have time to do it all myself.

    So - If you are into web stuff and/or design and would be interested chime in on here or drop me a PM.

    If we have a few folk interested we can get together over a pint and throw the ideas about, knock up a POC / pitch and go see The Don.

    I can help out if needed. No idea what it's about like but I'll help :)

    Im ok with web stuff and basic design, I have quite a few contacts who are fantastic with photoshop who could use for any graphics

    May I suggest that a set goal is made for this idea. ie any money made goes towards a, b and c at the club rather than just being handed over to possibly go into the great black hole that never gets fully explained to us mere mortals. That isn't a criticism of the club by the way, I understand that they can't publicly account for every penny but I think when fans are trying to raise funds for the club it is nice to know where it is going so that things that WE want are achieved.

    I said that last night. Regular feedback on amount raised and clear communications from the club about what it's been spent on and it's additional budget to that they already have.

    When you start thinking like me it's time to worry Dyson.

    I saw someone mention that Don said we have only sold a certain percentage (a third?) of the amount of advertising that we'd need to to make a new scoreboard a financial success, did he happen to mention how much that advertising was being sold for or anything like that?

    I thought maybe if we knew what advertising was being offered and for what price then maybe fans could suggest this form of advertising to people they know who own businesses. One man at Oakwell with a decent amount of contacts might struggle to sell it all but 7,000 fans each with maybe 2 or 3 contacts may have more luck.

    He said 120k for scoreboard, that he had covered 30% (i think) but not the number of businesses so we can't work that out now.

    Definitely. Trying to make the club money with a set goal and something to see at the end of it sounds like something a lot of people would get behind.
