You can still sign players but they are not recognised by FL and FA until 1st

Cryne procrastinating about Davey's future is hardly a solid foundation to build for next season. Season finished now for Barnsley knocking on a month and Cryne is meeting Davey next week to confirm his future..............Is Davey just supposed to assume he is manager and try and sign players anyway, knowing he might not see the transaction through if he gets the push...............FFS.

 

Did anyone really believe that Cryne was going to get shut of Davey???

I mean he let him decide that Barnsley would not be having a reserve side next season etc. then he sacks him and the new manager wants a reserve team! I mean not at all likely is it. All that was a ******** smokescreen to get the supporters back onside.
Never had any intention of sacking Davey.
I hope I am wrong but , its more of the same next season.

The answer is:

You can agree a club to club transfer at any point during the whole year, but the transfers can only be completed during the two transfer windows.

Any agreed outside a transfer window will complete (ie be registered) on July 1st or January 1st.

There is a free transfer deadline as well of which one is sometime in April, not sure when the other is if indeed there is another.

You can approach to sign a player whose contract expires June 30th (most do) anytime from May 30th - unless they have already been released by their parent club when I think you can then sign them.

 

Somebody plays quite a lot of FM.



Yeah, what he said. Most of the clubs don't start training until 1st July anyway so it's not like it makes much difference.
