    Yep, "Where the Lakes meet the Sea"... hmm

    You wouldn't think it was so lovely if you had to drive down the cul-de-sac that is the A590 often. The number of old giffers driving at 40mph drives you mad. The scenery is quite spectacular in places though.

    It does get annoying when they are tootling along oblivious to evrytghing behind them.
    I hate the roadworks at high Newton as well, sometimes its a right tailback.
    Whats with the lighthouse on top of the hill in Ulverston, is it the Lanternhouse?

    The High Newton roadworks aren't bad at the moment. The traffic lights were gone when I drove past earlier this week. They're making a decent job of the bypass, paying attention to dry stone walling and the like. Should speed up the journey with some dual carriageway too.

    That's the Sir John Barrow monument on the Hoad at Ulverston. Not entirely sure what its purpose is... it's not a light or lantern house.

    I will try and check it out tomorrow then, its a fuuny thing

    looks like a lighthouse on a hill above the town!
