I suppose you could also say the Mayan Calendar was nearer to 365 and a quarter days than ours, given that the Sun always appears in exactly the right place on that thing they built. Therefore leap years wouldn't come into it. Unlikely that they could be so accurate but not impossible.
No matter how much crap has been spread about it I still find it amazing what the mayans achieved in astrological terms! They didn't have all the fancy telescopes etc that we have now so being able to understand our solar system like thy did was pretty neat.
If you like that, watch this next time it's on telly http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01hlkcq . You'll mess yer pants.
Quite good of them to organise the end of the world to fall on Black Friday; most of England will be too hammered to notice, unless they have cocked it up and it's a morning thing.
It's even worse than it first appears It seems the end of the world will be in French. Quelle horreur!
People keep referring to the end of the world, but no one has suggested how it might end. Considering the Sun has billions of years worth of fuel left to burn, it can't be that. So what is it? Any ideas?
