I'm absolutely delighted with how well we're doing. I'm not looking for something to moan about, but we should be able to discuss where the team might be weak.

Scott Wiseman was torn to pieces last night. He was completely destroyed. Players would just sail past him. I don't think I've ever seen a defender skinned so many times. I'm sure, like Flicker says, he's a lovely lad and I don't doubt that he gives his all every time he goes on the pitch. The booing he got in the Blackburn game was well out of order, but I really don't think we should be selecting a player because he's a decent fella who has been given a rough ride.

I can't agree. Thought he had a good game.

he recovered well after a poor start-even Stones would have found that winger a tough prospect

Sako had him for tea last night. He did okay at MK, especially for the second goal but I can't see any major improvements in basic defending. Without wanting to be negative, it will inevitably lead to more goals and more tears.

It would appear the John Stones loan is not happening, unless Moyes wants to see him in action against City?

I completely agree Jay. I said the same to my mate at half time that whenever he gets a player running at him he gets his body in an awful turned around position and they run past him every time. Awful defender.

He allows the attacker to decide where he wants to go and then is too slow to react. Makes no attempt to force him one way, something Stones excelled at from day one.

He was up against a quality player, it's true. But every one of our players was up against quality opposition. Wolves have a lot of good players. The rest of our team seemed to win a good percentage of their battles, where as Scott, particularly in the first half, lost out every time. And not just gainst Sako, a number of the Wolves team drifted right by him.

When I saw the defence with Wiseman, Foster and Kennedy in there, I thought we were in for a pounding. All three have their moments of madness, can be caught in possession or give the ball away cheaply. But wasn't it Craney who dawdled on the ball and had it pinched off him for the Wolves goal? Personally, I don't think Wiseman had any worse game than the rest of the back four.

Can we mention Bobby Hassell in the same thread as Scott Wiseman or for that matter in any thread

The biggest reason we won last night was Saunders moved Sako on to their right wing in the second half. And didn't put Hammill on him when he came on either.

He gave the ball away when there was no pressure, offered nothing going forward and defended badly too. Liability.

An example of the WIseman cant win syndrome a Wolves player sailed round 4 of our players on one run in the first half. The bloke at the back of had a right go at Wiseman. A guy on here posted on here on saturday that the MK goal was his fault too. THE LAD SIMPLY CANT WIN

Aye, he'd have done a load better job last night.

If we're playing Wiseman as a RWB, fair enough. He's got cover of Cranie behind him. He's not a RB. He's not a defender. In fact I struggle to believe he's a footballer. I've seen teamsheet over past 3 days and automatically assumed we'd lose because he was in the side.

He's 'ok' as a wing back in a 5-3-2 formation but dreadful as a right back in a 4-4-2. As is Kennedy when he has to play left back

I've been saying it for over a year now - the lad isn't a defender.

That's my opinion borne out by watching him nearly 80 times for us.

I think he's got something to offer us in an attacking role, maybe even in central midfield? But IMO we have better options than Scott out wide, and so he'd only ever occasionally make the bench if I was selecting the team.

The myth created that Hassell can't play RB (created by Keith Hill) is lost on me. We've not seen him play RB for so long I find it ridiculous to draw that conclusion.
I have however, seen him play there some 200 times and I know he hasn't made even half the errors that Wiseman has in his time at the club.

The fact that 36 year old Rory Delap is now here, and is seemingly fit enough to laik RWB or wherever, serves only to cement my belief that if we are choosing either Wiseman or Hassell at RB or RWB, Hassell should get the nod.

If he then proves as useless at defending as Wiseman, or indeed proves to have "not got the legs" then we find someone else.
But I'm 90% sure that Bobby would perform for us, because he usually does.

It's the one slight 'thing' that itches away at me about Flitcroft - he also doesn't see Bobby as good enough, like Keith. But whilst he's getting results (despite Wiseman) who are we to judge?

*my thoughts on Scott Wiseman are football ability related... I do not have anything against the bloke.

Oh, and I've never booed him.

But I did shake my head when I realised he was up against Sako. And went onto shake my head numerous times as Sako tore him a new arsehole.

He offered nowt going forward either, despite the oceans of space ahead of him.

I thought he played quite well. I thought he was up against there best player or one of there best players and i thought he did well. Covered round well. Attacked at times quite well.

Thanks Hemsie, for confirming what the rest of us already knew.
