Not holding my breath, Al tell thi, I think we're doing what we did last summer in recruiting players, trying to get who we want as cheap as possible. Could take a while
I was hoping for one today or at least before the game tomorrow. Perhaps the cheap option is beckoning after all.
I think this is wrong. They are taking the time to interview a range of people rather than plumping for their main choice. That may be why certain people have drifted in, and in some cases back out of the betting.
I agree. We are not in a position where we need to get a manager in ASAP to save us from relegation so why rush into a decision that people have been criticizing the board for getting wrong time and time again? Take our time and get the right man. Trust Burton in the meantime.
There are many many decent out of work candidates to try and bring in such as Adkins, Rosler, Gary Johnson, Tony Mowbury etc. I'm sure the likes of Peterborough and Coventry will be linked with them too. The longer we leave appointing the worse it's going to be. The list of names will shorten and whoever gets it probably won't feel like first choice or they would have been appointed by now.
Sometimes it seems like the club can't win. Do you know what recruitment process is in place? Maybe they have interviewed all those candidates and more and have narrowed it down to a shortlist for second interviews? This decision is huge and we need to get it right. We are not Coventry or Peterborough we are Barnsley and need to do our business in the right way. If anything I would say leaving Burton in charge for tomorrow's game will help us have a settled build up to the game and maybe something will happen Wednesday/Thursday. Or we will win on Tuesday and everyone will be wanting Burton to get the job. Whatever happens someone will complain about it.
2 away games coming up. We have just lost 6 away games on the bounce. Lose these , its a possibility with our current form, and we are plunged back into the mire at the bottom. Then a home game against Coventry who no doubt will have a new man in charge busting a gut to beat us. Its well more than a week ago since Wilson got his P45 and we need to have somebody in to steady the ship. Cryne and Mansford obviously had been pondering over ridding us of Wilson, so why haven't they been making provisions for a new man to come in ? Lose tomorrow and Saturday and do we still trust in Burton?
In that week since Wilson has gone we had an embarrassment at Crawley, which I leave no blame at all with Burton. We then picked up a much needed win with a clean sheet against one of the form teams in the league. I would say the ship is already pretty steady and bringing a new guy in on a Monday after a win on Saturday and a game on Tuesday would not steady it further. Glass half full or half empty?
All will be revealed at 5pm next Saturday. Lets hope to god we turn around our horrific away form! Burton is doing his best. Can't ask any more from him.
No i'm afraid all will not be revealed 5pm next Saturday as we could win every game or lose every game, but we will never know what would have happened if they appointed someone the day after sacking Danny. All we do know is that if we haven't won every game there will be a lot on here saying Rosler/Adkins would have done.
