I reckon with mellis to come back. Dawson, perkins and O'Brian have shown enough battle and quality for me.
We've got very good midfielders, when they're all played in the correct position and to their best strengths. For example, Dawson, Perkins and Mellis are central midfielders, so it baffles me when any of them are played on the wing, when we have perfectly good wingers in O'Brien and Noble Lazarus. I feel Cywka and Done would be better off played just behind a lone striker rather than on the wing. I think Buszaky and Greening could also do a good job, and Cranie and Hassell make great backup defensive midfielders, we do really have strength in numbers in midfield. And what with Dawson's recent run of form in front of goal, we're starting to see more goals from midfield, something we've lacked since Brian Howard left. For me, Perkins and Dawson are fantastic central midfielders, who would be wasted in league 1. Not bad for lower league signings, the same goes for Golbourne too.
If the right players are played in the right positions yes - Dawson Perkins OBrien RNL and Mellis are all good enough though it doesnt mean the Midfield cant be improved - its not the priority though - one or two Centre halves and a centre forward needed
Ho Ho Ho. Christmas time mistletoe and wine. What gets me is when we play Perky and Dodger together both of em can hit a ball but they drather lay it out wide, in the main, than have a dig when just outside the box, today was no different.
I think there's only room for Perkins or Dawson tbh. There too similar in their style of play. Since we've been in the championship I think the midfield department has been our best. All we need to do is take a few risks and sign up a few promising strikers to long term (3-4 year) contracts. Had we done this with Vaz Te and co we would be pushing for the play offs. Midfield dream team since weve been in the championship would consist of: Mcindoe-Butterfield-Howard-Vaz Te
