Jacob mellis is a superb replacement. Hope when we play at Bellend road thug Brown doesn't take him out.Weeds Scum!
We aren't but I would still like him in our squad as an option. Mellis has taken on his mantle and is performing superbly though.
Fantastic so far, but Dawson, Perkins and Cranie need to take some credit, their work rate and the way they boss the midfield gives the likes of Mellis and Cywka the freedom to be creative.
No, but then we dont miss any player/manager that leaves because life goes on and there are plenty of players/managers out there to choose from.
Butterfield is better than Mellis Butters would have scored yesterday and also put players in on goal more often However........Mellis is coming on in leaps and bounds, so the loss of Butters is not as severe as one might have thought......but its still a loss
From a Birmingham forum: 'Braga aside, Barnsley were the best side I saw down the Blues last season. And I doubt we will see a better side than them this season. From the first minute they put pressure on us when we had the ball, the allowed us no space for movement, when they got the ball they moved it round well, they created good opportunities by putting together good passing moves. Blues were poor yesterday, but a team does not go away from home, against a team that on paper they are worse than, score 5, restrict the home team to two shots from outside the area, and could easily have scored double.' Butterfield who??
Why bring up Butterfield? Why not focus on our current players, and enjoy a fantastic performance and result? Or should we perhaps also ask 'Do we miss Ricardo Vaz Te, Danny Drinkwater, Adam Hammill, Jason Shackell?' We've won 5-0 away, and yes it's brilliant, but folk should know better, and calm down a bit if you ask me. It was only a few games ago that folk were laying into Keith and the squad. I'm a big fan of his, and a lot of the players, but yesterday however brilliant was just one game. . Sent using my £3 Samsung Bag o ***** phone
Forget butty he as gone . Big Keith is the one we need to get behind . He is a quality coach and manager just get behind him.
Glad I didn't feel the need to get carried away, or make sad statements about current/former players. I'm a well known Keith fan, one of his originals. But after the 5-0 drubbing, the quoted post was my only post that weekend. I was going to bump up loads of OTT threads, to try get a bit of perspective, but it's lost on some folk anyway. Btw, to those who said "Jacob who?" etc, it's Jacob Mellis, he's been MIA since the Brum game.
Marked in action? Thought he put a shift in for the first half an hour/40 minutes. Then forgot him. He needs Davies and Dagnall back in the side as much as we do.
Since the Brum game, he's set that goal up for Marlon. Ok. He also missed sitters at Leeds, and Derby. And put two shots out for a throw in on Saturday. He whimps out of any 50/50 challenge, too. I'm not having a pop at him, I rate him highly. But Jacob Butterfield he isn't. Not even similar in style. He's a provider. Butterfield was equally adept at both creating and scoring. With both feet. Redfearn-esque. Hope he doesn't laik on Saturday.
Agree - regarding Davies. And whilst I'd pick Reuben ahead of Daggers (he deserves a chance the lad) I do find it strange that Dangerous has been shunted for Calamitous (Kelv). At least tha gets graft and endeavour with little Chris.
I thought Lazarus did really well when he came on. Looked quicker and put himself about much more than he has before.
