    Don't want to state the obvious, but have you tried headphones? My laptop speakers don't work, but the headphone jack is ok

    Try downloading new ones then? No matter what I do I cannot get my speakers working though, but it's only my second machine anyway. Have a smart all-in-one ASUS PC now - much better
