Are we playing to our full potential or is it the new manager syndrome?

I think the test of that

Will be when we lose. How will the team react? If we can follow up our next defeat with a victory, then I'd suggest that we're onto something a bit more substantial than the simple honeymoon period of a new manager.

Could be a test this Saturday, l'd imagine the clubs around us are thinking its a new manager impact. An interesting fact that the last time we got relegated from this level we went through the whole of December and January unbeaten! drew plenty.

Might be a good time to play Blackpool ...... if they flog Ince today or tomorrow, that will take the wind out of their sails!

We are 4/1 to win, looks a decent price after 4 wins and a draw from our last 5 games

Didn't we have 11 game unbeaten run but about 7-8 draws in that?

I was musing the same yesterday. To some extent I'm guessing that the new manager syndrome isn't apt here as Flitcroft was already known to the players. I remember last season when Vaz Te scored on his return after he'd been dropped and his immediate reaction was to run towards the dugout, ignored Keith Hill, and went straight for Flitcroft. I think Flitcroft is respected by the players in a way that Keith Hill wasn't and I think we're seeing a squad of players playing for the gaffer right now.

    During that period

We moved clear of the bottom three, similar to what Ipswich & Wednesday have done. Unfortunately, once we lost at Birmingham, we then followed that up with a hammering at home to Palace, slipped back down into the relegation places and never looked like having the bottle and fight required for the battle. Hopefully, we won't repeat the mistakes of Parkin's team of bottlers. I'm confident we won't.

    From 2/12/01 - 09/02/01

    P 11 W 5 D 6 F 25 A 13

    W 3 - 0
    W 4 - 1
    D 1 - 1
    W 4 - 1
    W 3 - 1
    D 1 - 1
    D 0 - 0
    D 3 - 3
    W 1 - 0
    D 4 - 4
    D 1 -1

That run of games probably was the reason many thought we wouldn't go down, we were battering teams. Ran out of steam in the end.
