What was your first pair of branded trainers ?

i remember been at school and my mum got me a pair of Adidas Samba, black leather with white stripes,

I was king of the road with them, very special moment

Puma. Can't remember the exact type but they cost a fortune (given our circumstances at the time) and I was almost too scared to wear them in case they got scuffed!

Puma Paris. I wanted some Puma G Villas, but somehow me mam convinced me that the soft bit on the front would get knackered and I wouldn't be able to clean it properly. Dunno if that was her genuine concern or if she preferred the Puma Paris or it was because they were cheaper.

They were the first item of clothing or shoes that I ever asked for instead of just being bought stuff.

Adidas Rom. White with light blue stripes. Must have been around 1970. Also around that time my football boots were Adidas Santiago with moulded soles.

Dunlop Green Flash. Bought them from Midwood Sports opposite the library. Unfortunately as I was always a bit of a tomboy and loved to play footie they didn't stay white very long so I had to use that paint-on white stuff all the time that became chalky and crumbled off as soon as I kicked a ball again. So, not the best purchase for a football-loving lass.

    Patrick Liverpool circa 1985.

I was so proud, before that it had been plain Clarks shoes.
