It's a bit more complicated than that. I'd rather Patrick still be our owner but unfortunately, due to his ill health, we are going to need a new owner. I don't feel right answering 'yes', as that sounds like I want to get rid of him but 'no' could mean disaster. I'd rather tick a 'I'd prefer a miracle to happen' box.
Because we will never be in possession of the full facts Not unless we are ever wealthy enough to buy it
What's happened so far with the way we roll has been truly remarkable. But there can be no further progression if we stay as we are. The players will be plucked from us as they develop and we will be unable to resist the bids. Sooner or later the new intake of raw recruits will not come up to scratch, and then we will fall again. More financial clout is required to help us retain the players once we've improved them. We can then think about bigger crowds, stadium development and hopefully a sustainable existence at a better level (i.e. top half of this division). It comes with risks, but we have to take them if we want to follow the direction of travel of the game at this level.
YES. To move forward, I've had enough of selling our best players, living on a knife hedge will we go down will we stay up, these people who are supposedly taking over have the money to stop all this and get a good return, we get a good footballing team down at Oakwell the crowd's increase and there's a real feel-good feeling around Barnsley. BRING IT ON.
Depends on the type of owners the new lot are. I don't want to become one of these shitty arsehole clubs like QPR or Birmingham or Leeds who think they're going to spend forever in the promised land because they have a few bob and rub it in the noses of the rest of us. I don't want to be part of that, because it's *****, and it's ruining football. I think I said it best when I first heard about it, we'd all like a go on Margot Robbie, but I wouldn't cheat on my missus to do it.
January last season proved why we need the takeover. For S Wednesday to buy our top striker not play him and pay big wages to him and pay us next to nothing for him clearly demonstrates we need bigger backing to compete financially in the league. Also we could have maintained stability in our squad by maintaining the services of Scowen, Roberts and Watkins with a small uplift in wages.
