Hello.

My mate is considering moving to Tarn.

Any suggestions as to where he should/should not go?

If he can afford it SW Barnsley is nicest (S36)

Mind you Barnsley in general is cheap and S36 is technically Sheffield, but it's got 01226 telephone numbers and relies on Barnsley MBC.

    Pardon ?

I'm saying that Barnsley per se IS cheap.

S36 is probably the most expensive place to live in 'Barnsley', but it's still miles cheaper than the parts of Cheshire and the peaks where you'd have similar housing with similar views.

    It's dead reight here.

3 minutes on an empty lane to the motorway.

5 minutes on an emptier lane to the school.

    15 minutes to Meadowhall.

    15 minutes to Leeds.

    10 minutes to town.

    Plenty of wild life.

    Great walks for the dogs.

Views over Cawthorne towards the Pennines.

    No teams of young 'uns.

Does get a bit chilly mind and me mate says it's that dark at night he'd want the driver to walk him from the taxi to the door.
