What time are you leaving? I've broken my retirement or a few minutes because I'm up for going if I can get a lift!

Assuming a 3pm kick-off, hoping to set off about 11:30 (so it'll be noon, like it always is!).

And what time can you get us back to Oxenholme station? Need to check out times, etc. so I can get back for £25! Otherwise it'll cost about £60, which isn't good. Thanks for fitting me into your plans again! On the plus side...whenever I've been with you and the kids we've never conceded a goal, long may that continue.

I've done much worse journeys for a match, and I'll carry on to do so until I die.

Not much of a supporter if I'd rather stay at home, am I?

I don't suppose you are the only one who does similar journeys

but i bet there aren't many who come further afield.

Well, isn't McDog going to be there? It's a much bigger journey for him.

Worst journey I done was last season when I went to MK Dons away, Luton and Bristol City at home, spent the night after Bristol City sleeping in Manc Airport before getting bus home the next day.

Just part of being a supporter a long way away though, will you be there tomorrow?

May be in the OP beforehand then, depending on ICU. He's the driver so he makes the decisions!

Only one problem is...will the snow affect the trains? Dunno how bad it is in Carlisle and Oxenholme.

not sure if I'll make it to the OP cos I'll be on the last push as usual. All the snows gone here.

Don't forget its new years eve, are you sure the trains are running as normal???

I have train times, etc. as you have seen. Gotta check the prices tomorrow to make sure before I leave.

Aslong as the snow doesn't disturb the journey. It's pretty good, thanks to ICU, it only costs me £45-£50 to see a reds match these days. Very grateful for his, and Arnside Red's generosity.

he seems like a decent bloke, I occasionally see him on Oakwell lane walking too or from the ground with his kids. If I see him tommorrow with an extra big kid I'll say hello.

Yep, his kids are very polite and pleasent. Barnsley really does come up with the most welcoming people I have ever come across!

One thing I forgot to check, was a train from Blantyre - Glasgow to get me to Glasgow in time, oops.

    Oxenholme 19:!!!!!!!

    Is there one after that?

We usually hit this area about 19:45ish (although last Saturday we did 1 hour 45 mins from here to parking spot in Barnsley!).

Weather should be no problem for the train, it's been "persisting" it down all day!

That's the last train back that'll get me back into Glasgow I'm afraid.
