Just a quick observation regarding the Emirates Stadium, Its a Really long way from the pitch behind the goal, for a new stadium isnt this really bad design? Especially when the champs league rolls into town with the higher adverstising boards, I bet they can hardly see the goal nearest to them, and why not build the front row of the stand nearer the pitch al a millenium?
I've been to the emerites twice this season, once was a champions league game, and i've been near the front of the bottom teir both times, and the view is good, no complaints. The stadium design is amazing, its the best club ground i've been to before
Cheers for that I was concerned for all those tourists paying £90 and not being able to pick Cesc' out!
I went earlier this season for the Blackburn game and was sat behind the goal really high up. At first thought it is very impressive, but you might as well be sat in the car park with a set of binoculars. Very comfy seats with a load of legroom and lovely concourse, etc, but it doesn't really help provide an intimidating atmosphere for home league games in the way that Old Trafford, Anfield, Goodison Park, etc do. Having said that, Highbury was never a hotbed of excitement either was it?
You say about the view being far away, but if your on the upper tier of any stadium its the same not just arsenal!
Highbury was terrible for an atmosphere and the Emirates is even worse. We were 5-0 down last year and still all the noise was from our supporters. I've never been a fan of these new grounds. I loathe Pride Park when you compare it to the Baseball Ground. Always loved going Oakwell. Been 3 times, this season, the last season we were promoted (think we brought up around 7,500) and then once in the mid-late 90s. Its grounds like these that make football what it is, not the Emirates.
