If you played with 1 defender you wouldn't have to be bill shankley to realise why you were leaking goals like a sieve, SO WHY PLAY WITH 1 UPFRONT AND NOT REALISE WHY WE'RE NOT SCORING ???????????? 4-3-1-2

 

I think we created plenty of chances first half playing 4-2-3-1. Don't think it's necessarily a formation problem, more a square peg round hole problem. I rate Nyatanga as a centre half. He's not a left back. It means we have reduced penetration on the left with the formation we use. A different full-back bombing on like Wabara and we're a different proposition and the 1 up top is less of a problem. There's nowt wrong with the formation per se, I just wonder if our starting XI was the best one to play in that formation. If we'd taken one or more of those chances missed in the first half, we'd not be talking about the formation.

 

The main problem is , while all the players we have brought in all look to be good players(not sure about Wilkinson though), they do not compliment each other! We have brought in too many players that all want to play down the middle and wasted our loans by doing that. We cant play Nyatanga at left back for much longer, we are making him a poor player. Every player signed so far wants to play central except Wabara and Harris , even Watkins likes being central.
We have a really unbalanced squad, but they are all good players.

 

Because if we play 4 midfielders we'll lose, like we did when we switched to 4 midfielders.

 

thats because we only have one type of midfielder !! Going to 4 in the middle was not the reason we lost, it was the players he left on , Scowen should have come off, we lost all our attacking threat when we took BOTH Crowley and Houriane off !

 

It was the players in the four that cost us not the fact we went to four.

 

I've been saying this for weeks & keep getting shot down.

The transfer strategy is bizarre.

It just seems to be a game of sign as many talented footballers as possible.

What I want in a manager is him to sign specific players for specific roles.

What I don't want to hear is comments like the one about Crowley. 'We don't need him but he's too good to turn down'.

So we end up playing either him or Hourihane on the wing for the next few months & have an unbalanced side.

Bad management for me
