.... isn't it time we ended this foolish encouragement to come round once a year and 'mug' us?

I know it's only sweets or a small amount of cash, but surely giving them the impression that it's ok to demand goods or do something nasty if we refuse does not bode well for the future.

People are now taking toddlers around. What message does that convey?

Stop this ridiculous and unnecessary Americanisation now - or the little ba stards won't know where fantasy ends and reality begins.

I think we should make it more american

Over here it seems to be the tradition to make little effort and then ask for money or play a 'trick' (term used lightly). Over there they make more of an effort and generally only get sweets for their trouble (which stops the older kids from trying it on).

    No you're wrong

    Over there you get shot.

I've spent just over £2 on Starburst and Fudge bars just to keep my windows intact and my car scratch free.

Not only that - the starburst are much smaller than ever Opal fruits were, so i have to hand out more. That can't be right surely.

    Ban it now.

    Just don't answer door

keep front lights off....they go elsewhere.

My other thought was to buy loads of apples and satsumas and give them fruit....healthy eating combined with Halloween!

I got pissed off last year, every 5 mins at least for 2 or 3 hours was someone at the door....they must pass on info as to where they are getting stuff from. Some kids are fine and just take one, others just take handfuls of stuff.

Decided to just ignore them this year so I can actually enjoy my evening!
