Very impressed with the two lads at fullback, Smith and Holgate.
    Like their attitude and application.
We have a midfield as soft as a pussy's pussy.
Number 4, whoever he is, very weak, gave the ball away too easily.
Hemmings... not at all certain what he does, or is supposed to do.
    Lita too isolated.
Jennings much better on left wing rather than right. Grew into the game.
    Glad Ramage has signed again.
Boro outplayed us for a vast proportion of the game but we did improve second half.
I fear for our future with what we have got and it will take some getting out of the mess.

I agree with alot of that although we wont be playing teams with the players boro have everyweek in league one so think we will be okay this season. We need to recruit better though instead of has beens. Lita, tracey, hemmings, reece brown all dannys summer recruits and who would miss them if they were never seen at oakwell again?

Virtually every player at the club is a Danny recruit now? He's only had one transfer window to try and get it right, and the squad is threadbare right now.

Hemmings, Treacy and Brown can't be classed as has beens though. I don't rate Hemmings in the slightest, but at least we signed a young player in some sort of form - he should be far hungrier to succeed than some of his displays suggest.

We desperately need new recruits in several positions or we're in for another very long season.

Can't disagree with any of that. The 2 young full backs and the 2 centre halves are the real positives and the rest were poor. Berry gives 100% but just hasn't got the quality and was knackered after an hour. The front 2 were awful, Hourihane completely powder puff, Digby anonymous and Jennings ineffective. Looking like a team in trouble to me. Danny has had a mare and January isn't the best time to sort it. Good luck to him...

I reckon we need 6 players in the squad to be competitive in this league right now. By competitive i mean top half, not even play off contenders. The young ins have done great and had some good playing time, however yesterday just proved without Loanees how weak our squad really is.

I think six is about right. Some of the young lads have done a great job, some of the more experienced pro's need a good kick up the backside.
