http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/qpr-handed-financial-fair-play-boost-9411488.html Just too many clubs getting parachute payments, and clubs quite happy to lose millions a year. I ******* hate football
I thought that article was saying proposals to allow greater losses were rejected? Which is a good thing? May be totally misreading it but current position remains. If a club loses more than £6m then they get fined.
Not necessarily a good thing as the clubs will now look to defeat FFP in the courts. The vote was also a chance to include additional governance around real time reporting which would have stopped clubs gambling to get to the Premiership as their finances will be looked at month to month. It also means that there's no real way of challenging clubs financially who have the prem parachute payments of £27million. If we had an owner who wanted to compete financially to try and get us to the promised land they could only do this to the tune of £6million a season. Obviously, it would be difficult to compete with those that have the additional £27million from the premiership and adds another level of unfairness to the championship. Next season there will be 12 clubs with parachute money in the Championship and 12 without (I think). The chances of changing FFP by the 75% vote would be even more unlikely so I believe it was felt this year was the opportunity to fine tune FFP and provide some sort of compromise. It is also thought by some clubs that transfer embagos would not be a good for football.
Ah ok! Thanks! Think that's the first time someone's explained anything to do with FFP that's made sense. Worrying times indeed. The souls been ripped out of football and now the vultures will finish off the heart, body and mind. RIP 'beautiful' game. Looking forward to the FA Super Bowl in years to come.
