Oh oracle of all knowledge that is the BBS.

South Yorkshire is a hot bed for catalytic converter thefts .

So my questions to the oracle are

    1. How much is one worth - surely an old one can't be worth more than a few quid so nicking one seems a bit more effort than it's worth - even for a druggy.

    2. If someone walks into Highgate scrap yard with 15 catalytic converters under his arm isn't the owner obliged to get the number plate of the car it is supposed to have come from or at least check he is from larry's exhausts or some other business likely to have them kicking about.

The whole area of scrap dealing needs regulating. Scrap dealers don't give a ****, they just see the £££.Which creates instant demand for crims to run round nicking whatever metal they can get their hands on. It's actually a really serious issue and costs the economy millions in replacements.
