probably is a true reflection of the youth of this country on the whole, she's rude, disrespectful, loud and ignorant...

Sorry to the minority of young people who are none of those.

 

She's also made more money than all of us put together for being all those things, and f**king stupid as well.

whilst she obviously reflects some, she does not reflect all. the media is full of loud, obnoxious, ignorant youths but 95% of youths are not in the media.
it would be fitting if the show that gave her the opportunity would now be responsible for her exit from the limelight. she clearly has made enough money to be comfortable for the rest of her life BUT her and her stupid boyfriend will just have to live of what she has made because people are seeing, for the second time the real jade - ignorant, obnoxious and loud and a BULLY to boot. glad to hear that she is losing sponsors and her perfume is being removed from sale in some shops.

the problem is far more than Jade

it is a melting pot of the nation's obsession with celebrity, the whole social underbelly (ie chavs) being fixated by people being able to get rich purely by being famous rather than having to do an ounce of work, and the fact that like it or loathe it every single person has some prejudice against some other group even though some might strongly deny it.

Big Brother has gone from an interesting social experiment to a freak show for attractive late teens/early 20's to get their face plastered over the media for a couple of months and then live off appearances on minor satellite stations for a few years after that.

The other problem is the people that still watch it obsessively. Are their lives really that devoid of real-life interaction and social understanding that they think sitting in front of the TV watching 10 idiots sleeping is actually going to enrich anyone's existance? Jesus wept.

Except I don't just think it's the chavs who watch and encourage it - it's got quite a trendy, middle-class following too - people who actually hold some sway in society - that's why politics has been reduced to soundbites, meaningless initiatives and popularity contests...
