Asf Files to MPEG DESPERATE PLEA FOR HELP AGAIN

Hi all I posted a desperate plea for help yesterday re the interviews the children have been doing with BFC.</p>

I am still at a loss as to why, when I download my film clips onto my home computer they are suddenly transformed into asf files</p>

The video camera is a little MPEG 4 recorder and has been fantastic over 4 years of use in school with the children.</p>

There is nothing on it to convert it to another format.</p>

The only thing I have downloaded onto my computer is Super O which Revvie P recommended. I used that to convert some YOU TUBE playoff videos into files to play on my PDA.</p>

I can now see all the childrens' work unravelling before my eyes. We started this project in September and I am using ULEAD 10 to make the film.</p>

Thanks to all who recommended various programs yesterday but some of the ones recommended cost the earth and the school hasn't got that type of money available. Is there anything free out there?</p>

Also, how the hell do I convert them if I do find a program. They are just so difficult to understand</p>

I am getting into a severe panic here as so many people will be let down, let alone the children.</p>

Why is it doing these conversions? It's driving me bonkers.</p>
