Camerons show pony british company is in the news again. Comparing working conditions to sports direct.
What happens when unions are watered down by constant legislation and attacks on social media ..Government makes it against law to strike under a certain % of a strike vote yet govern a country with under 40% of the vote
Id say the problems have **** and all to do with the unions or lack of. Its a combination of factors and i know where the first two rounds would get fired towards...
Know plenty of folk who've worked there, one of which was sacked after he went to the toilet 3 times in 2 months which exceeded the 5 minutes they give you per toilet break. He said depending on where you was in the factory it could potentially take you 5 minutes just to walk to the toilet. Another lad I know was let go after he let them know he had a holiday booked prior to his employment and they rang him up whilst he was in Gran Canaria and said his employment had come to and end after he failed to turn in for work.
But the EU protects workers ? Or generates a market where employers can pay the lowest wage possible with poorest conditions because they'll always be someone to take the job... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agency's is the first issue. What is the biggest common denominator between ASOS, sports direct and aldi (where there are similar issues with high labour turnover, none guaranteed hours and strict conditions)? Agencies These types of company all employ agencies to supply their staff which allows them to distance themselves from the conditions and the clauses being imposed on the workers. Agencies know that they can just keep swapping out the staff every few months and avoid having to worry about many workers rights because of it. Laws should be in place to stop it from happening
careful a lad who i know works there now and they signed a gaging order that same day he said its not as bad as what people say coincidence?
We've got a warehouse here in Selby that deals with all the asks stuff and it's exactly the same..... If your not polish or willing to go in at 6 in the morning and be sent home unpaid when they decide they don't need you they aren't interested. It's about time we did away with agencies and gave people job security and proper rights.....
thing is what will happen to all these warehouses when we do actually leave the EU and i never hear anything bad about amazon? is that because its bigger and some how get out of the bad press or do they get paid £12 an hour monday to friday and can sit in the toilet all shift if they cant be arsed to do work?
well, the leader of barnsley council seemed VERY proud to be able to bring them to our town, so apart from cameron he ought to be blamed too...
you know its just the agency who work zero hour contract? and that is the point in agencies actual contracted staff work on flex times
