We'd have gone down fighting, looking like we cared. This season we're going down with a whimper, like it doesn't matter. Lost pretty much all faith in Flicker. His tactics last season were to get into teams, to battle, to harass and go for the win. Maybe the situation forced those tactics on him, I don't know. But this season - for the most part - we seem much more interested in sitting back, hoping not to concede (look how that's worked out!) and hoping to eke out a win. I know which method I prefer and it's not this season's. Still harbour hopes Flicker can turn it round but I'm worried as to how much longer we can continue with him in charge. Not only are the tactics wrong (imo) but the substitutions are predictable and ineffectual. Player treatment is confusing (RNL ready for a full season of games, then gets shipped out to Scunny being just the latest example) to say the least. Also worried that if we do sack Flicker (or he walks away) that our job is desperately unattractive to the majority of potential candidates. Money is limited, the squad is lightweight in key areas (only one keeper when Butland loan ends, no quality on the left side at all and a central midfield that is full of battlers who currently seem incapable of battling) and job security is virtually nil. Unless Mansford can pull off a shock we'll be stuck with another hopeful punt on a lower league guy who is potentially out of his depth. Genuinely thought we might win today and kick on through Christmas toward safety. Don't see us surviving at all now. The winnable games have pretty much gone and we didn't win them.
Anything but a win against Birmingham and he has to be sacked. We cannot wait till xmas to do it as we were amazingly lucky last season to stop up.
No! He needs to go now! I was 50/50 up to the Donny game. Only place we're going is league 1at the moment. Down by Valentines day at this rate.
