Which im not, by the way....

You have to understand the predicament hes in with the transfer market.

Any player that signs would, quite reasonably, want to play. So if your a centre half you have to get past moore, Foster and Hassell to get in our team, (we are short at fullback tho). To get that kind of player your looking at a 7 figure fee.

In midfield you have to dislodge Anderson and Colace, again, a serious fee for a player of that calibre...

We are a bit weak up front but again, money comes into it.

In a nutshell, he cant bring players to strengthen the squad because there isnt the funds and that means him "gambling" on players like sodje and youth players from premier league clubs...

I personally think he is a terrible manager that is immature and tactically brainless, but i can see the problem with bringing in players. i wouldnt suprise me if none come in. (hope thats not the case!!!)

You think we have to spend over £1m to find a player better than Sir Bobby??

A squad needs competition for a players and if a player didn't want to come to us fearing he wouldn't get into the first team (which I don't believe by the way) I wouldn't want him anyway as he would be a) no good and b) have a shocking attitude.

I like the final paragraph but not sure though about the remainder, the man has known for sometime however, the neccessity for a decent striker and still he teeters.

A dose of realism is needed here....

Do you think Luke Steele would have signed if Muller wasnt goin??

Thats how it works!! Footballers want to play. they dont think, oh ill start in the reserves and prove my worth. if they come to a club they wanna go in the team. if they wanted to fight for a place they would stop where they were...

the million pound tag was an exagerration, but to get a better fullback then hassell its gunna cost 500,000. and god knows how much for a midfielder better than Colace or Anderson. its a catch 22, and the only way out is to gamble, ie, Mossto, Bogdanovic, Foster, (which worked!!!), Ferenczi, Souza and countless others.

they invested in Hume and we were robbed out him for reasons we all know. But every transfer we make is an hit and hope, some work and some dont....

would you trust him to buy a striker??

    Hume excepted, and possibly macken.

But then youve got Rajcki, Christensen, Mossto, Odejayi, Mifsud.

He sold Ferenczi, (admittedly he bought him in the first place) and Paul Hayes, who were as good as any above

Personally, i hope he doesnt bring another striker because he mainly brings in crap!!!!

And i think defensivly, we have cover at left back with Potter as i think he will come on leaps and bounds this season. Unti he gets a chance, makes a mistake and gets hounded out.

    Not true

Anderson was a big signing, as was Hume.

We also offered big wages to Kevin Phillips last season.

RE: would you trust him to buy a striker??

It's a bit worrying that the formerly 'looking to bring in a proven scorer at championship level' has become 'looking for a player to support the other strikers.' Shift of emphasis, I think! I think it will be asking a lot of Hume to come straight back in as if nothing had happened. I do think we need another proven championship scorer, whilst Hume is getting sharpness and confidence back. What happened to the Polish chap - Lewandowski? The guy for Tenerife? I would take Cureton, but on the bench to bring on as an impact player, but I think that he will choose to stay at Norwich, as he has roots there.

I think that Anderson will only be allowed to depart if Adam arrives.

Contrary to what Davey is saying, there seem to be plenty of experienced keepers available out there.

RE: A dose of realism is needed here....

Bad example with the goalkeepers as they are less injury prone than outfield players and rarely get dropped

I don't see the point you're trying to make re being realistic. All players want to play in the first time but why should ANY player think they should automatically be playing week in week out. If a player is not prepared to fight to win/keep his place then he's not the sort of player we (or any club) needs.

It would not cost anything near 500k to replace Hassel or Colace there are loads of players as good as them knocking about
