I think the pilot has got lost. Can't decide which way to go.

I don't think Houston is anywhere over there.

In fact. Houston. I think we have a problem.

    Another circle

It's going round again. I can't leave my computer screen. How bizarre. never been above 10,000ft, and further away from its destination than when it set off almost an hour ago.

What's it doing? Well, I can tell what it's doing, it's doing circles at the Thames estuary, the real question is why?

    Re: Another circle

It must be burning/ditching fuel. It's obviously got a problem so can't fly to Houston, but it can't land with full tanks either, so it's getting rid of it.

It's weird watching it, it's had a few 'head on collisions', then you look at the altitude and realise it's 4 or 5 miles below the other planes.

I'm not going to sleep tonight unless I know it's safely landed. Somewhere.

Wonder what's gone on, looks like they've requested to go back to Heathrow, been placed in a holding pattern and now looks a few minutes away from landing again.

Must be a fault with the plane, but not too serious otherwise they wouldn't have been put in a hold.

Saying that, it's a 747 so it would have to dump a shed load of fuel before attempting to land.

This reminds me of the story about the two first-time flyers who were on a flight to New York. In mid Atlantic, the captain came on the loudspeaker and said that one of the engines had failed, but they still had three and could fly and land normally, so there was no cause for alarm, but the plane would be landing an hour late in New York.

Later on, the captain came on again and said a second engine had failed, but they could still fly and land, but they would now be 2 hours late.

Still later, captain comes on and says a third engine had failed, but the plane could still fly and land with no problem on one engine, but would be 4 hours late landing.

One of the first-timers turns to the other and says "If we carry on like this we'll be up here all night".

More to the point - how on earth do you find the crazy flight paths out there? You must have way too much time on your hands.

Lol. Funny thing is I only usually ever go on that site if I know someone has a flight that day. Not that often. I'm thinking this one has to be a training flight. You'd be gutted if you were on a plane from Manchester yo Luton, and it took longer than getting National Express.
