I don't really believe that. It was a poor game on Saturday granted but, as others have said, the players looked to be putting the effort in. We've played much much worse than that in the last couple of years and it's nowhere near the level of perfomance that got Andy Ritchie the sack IMHO.

That said, it's still relegation form.

We are getting worse results than when Ritchie was sacked tho`

Things went wrong for Ritchie after he said he wanted a new contract and was not offered one. Same thing is happening with Howard.

Ritchie wasn't just sacked for the results we were getting though.

We discussed the reasons why when he was sacked.

Davey refused to sign players too

Davey also said we were punching above our weight.

What other reason was Ritchie sacked for?

I was not trying to start a fecking war over Ritchie . Let it go. nt

I was just saying that Howard has not been the same player since we have not offered him a contract and I used Ritchies situ as an example of when things started to go wrong for him too.
I did not say that it wass the reason he got the sack, never intended it to look that way, but we looked a lot better as a TEAM under Ritchie until he wqanted a new contract.,

You'll really be able to have a go at me when Davey gets the sack.

I believe the ice burgs on the horizon for Mr Davey.

JC I dont want to have a go at anyone.

I was not getting a dig in over Ritchie, he is well down my priorities just now.Its just that what I was trying to put over is the similarities between what happened with ritchie over the contract and Howards situ now..
When we let the contract situation drag on it, I feel it shows that we dont want them anyway and then they dont give a toss.
I really cant see why you actually ever thought that Davey was the man to steer us to glory, but you are entitled to your opinions and beliefs just the same as anyone else.
I cant bear to think about the worst case scenario over the next month, losing to all those would be totally unthinkable.

RE: JC I dont want to have a go at anyone.

    I know that mate.

But things are getting pretty serious now.

It's not has if we were winning games towards the back end of last season. If we had been then we could say or present form was just an early season blip.

Loads of people think Da Silva with be the saviour when he comes back, but he is only one player. The team should be functioning as a unit without him. One player isn't going to get the rest of them playing well.

    I need a drink!

I'm doing a slow political withdrawal from my 100% support of SD.

Just so I won't have too much egg on my face if he does get the sack.

If I could see any light at the end of the tunnel

I would stick with him, I suppose, I would never like him dont get me wrong, but he just does not ever seem to take in the fact we are playing rubbish football and we are not battering teams and being unlucky. We are crap and deserve to lose, that is something that has got worse over the last 12 months and I really think that if we had lost to either Blackpool or Southend in the Cup , he would have gone already.

    This thread is heart warming.

Is there any chance of putting some dramatic background music on it?

My internal theme tune when I was reading that thread was the one that Simon Bates (god rest his gentle soul) used during the 'Our Song' segment.

    Mmmmmmm, lovely.

I always find 'Steptoe and Son' comes into my head for some reason.
