Why bother. We never give anyone a fair go, unless it is Noble-Lazurus to deflect the press when Davey was days away from the boot.

Rob seems to have been with us forever - I remember when he was a ball-boy in front of the Corner Stand.</p>

From glimpses of him as he grew up I really thought he was next off the Winstanley-McCarthy-Tiler production line.(There's another one who should have been in there but...)
    </p>

I hope this decision doesn't come back to haunt us.

We should have tried to blood him in the second half of the season and given him the opportunity to prove himself

I have always felt that he has shown potential and never got the chance he deserved

Rather than give an Academy/Reserve player a chance, Davey would rather ...

    1. Play someone who it is plain to see is not up to the job (KO).
    2. Bring in a foreign player who is also not tested at Championship level (<<insert name here>>).
    3. Continually play someone out of position, even if it is not working (<<insert name here>>).
    4. Pay someone to stay at home and not train or play, rather than have clear the air talks (AJ).
    5. Put them on the bench to make them feel wanted, but even when the cause is lost. don't let them have a run (West Ham last week).

    Exactly what I was thinking

If Davey had dropped say Souza for Atkinson or put him on and he had fecked up the same people would be slating Davey for picking him.

The mind boggles. The management team have identified that he's not likely to make the grade and that's good enough for me.

Saw Atkinson play in reserves this season

he looked garbage, a Grimsby fan I know isn't that impressed this time round, seems to have gone backwards. All our Academy rejects have done nothing since being released. But fckit, he's from tarn so play him anyway.

    The board schizo awakes

When someone says we need to buy a new defender you'll be moaning that we can't afford one because of our **** crowds and should give more attention to the academy

Sorry but I think that's rubbish

Admittedly it has not produced what it should but Davey has said that it needs restructuring.
