Could the fact this season may be pointless come may with the investigation still pending and not expecting a decision until may ?
From my limited knowledge of the charges I’d be surprised by a points deduction. We’ve not broken FFP, the people involved are not at the club anymore, it would be hard to prove that we gained any sort of advantage from it and we dobbed ourselves in for investigation. I think we’ll get a fine and potentially a suspended deduction at the worst.
Birmingham were punished for similar charges last season and got 2 points suspended, ours isn’t as bad, we raised the issue and culprits are no longer involved in day to day. No way are we getting a points deduction.
Why? According to Derby fans, the EFL hate them. The same for Wigan fans, and bury fans. In fact any club that bends, or breaks the rules are always the ones being hard done to according to some of their fans.
Any punishment decision taken in May won't apply to this season. Its too close to the end of the season. It will apply to next season. For administration, the cut-off date is the 4th Thursday in March. I'd guess it would be similar for FA/League decisions.
I thought it applied this season even after that date if it would affect league placings. Otherwise it would be applied next season? In any case it'll be suspended I'd have thought.
Apologies. You are correct. The points are suspended. If the club is relegated it applies next season, if not it applies to this season.
Ground is too big for us in my opinion. Those who make noise are spread too thinly to actually create any atmosphere. Not to mention the fact that all 4 corners of the ground are exposed, allowing any sound that is made, to escape. People call them "soulless bowls", but a circular stadium, or enclosed, with a max cap of say 16,000, the atmosphere would be massively improved. Just for clarity, I love Oakwell to bits, but I still believe what I've just said is true.
You're right. I think a new West Stand will make a huge difference if it goes all the way round and meets up with the Ponty, and includes a safe standing section, in that corner for example.
I used safe standing/rail seating at play off final and thought it amazing. The sooner we have it at Oakwell the better
I don't think that's the reason. It's also very unlikely we'll get a points deduction, given the circumstances of the charge.
The football is dull and flat. Don’t think it’s any more than that. Filling in the corners at Oakwell would make a massive difference. Installing safe standing and replacing the West Stand even more. it’s not the size of the stadium it’s the acoustics that are the issue.
Fans sitting miles Away from the away following. Use a standing section. Advertise the club. Do something with the west stand so we can move a standing section near the away fans.
The last time the club had trouble with acoustics they set several traps to catch the little b*stards
