Midfield looking strong now obriens fit but defence still a concern. I'd love to see us get a commanding centre half in now.
depends. IF you want a similar type to Butterfield then we could give Clark/RNL a chance. Not sure who else is available in the loan market Nightmare.
I don't think RNL/Clark are good enough, we need players for the here and now, like you i have no idea who we could bring in, as i don't know who is available or what sort of budget we have to play with so its pointless speculating as to who we should get but the type of player we need is a goalscoring midfielder who can bring others into play from central positions
Is the defence really that bad? 15th out of 24. http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/D1/glsagst.html Its the other end thats the problem 23rd/24 http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/D1/glsfor.html Clean Sheets - 4 matches 1 goal conceded - 7 2 goals conceded - 3 3 goals conceded - 1 4 goals conceded - 1 5 goals conceded - 1 65% of our games we've conceded only one goal or kept a clean sheet, our problem is getting something out of games we go a goal down in. When you look at the overall stats were not as bad at the back as some make out. Statto.
I think the only problem we have at the back is average players trying to do too much, we need to change our approach to defending and stop trying to be too fancy, clearing our lines and playing the ball higher up the pitch would help us no end, all this playing football in the middle looks good but at times where doing it too deep or with the defence pushed up too high trying to join in, backwards balls don't help ether because as soon as it goes back they push us back and make our defence play the ball under pressure, and as soon as we lose it there on top of the us and the lads at the back have no time to assess what's going on and where to pick up, and before you know it where 1-0 down, so imho our players are good enough its just that we need to play different at the back
