Whether people think we should be deserving of attendances higher than 10k or not it looks like that figure is here to stay. If people are being priced out then they won't come unless the prices drop; if people genuinely aren't interested in football then the chances are they won't attend regardless of whether we are 3rd or 23rd.

As for the talk of where are the missing fans that went to the Millenium it's a situation where you can't win. The ones that turned up there but not at Oakwell are branded big game fans, stay away supporters etc, but on the other side of the coin if only 10k turned up at the Millenium (and we get ridiculed completely) then the grumble would be along the lines of 'why can't Barnsley folk make an effort for just one day of their lives??'

As for how we are meat to maintain Champ status with low attendance in comparison to other Champ teams then we have to cut our cloth accordingly. Many people won't want to hear this, but we have always been a selling club even when we were the longest serving club in the second flight of English football - examples being Currie, Tiler, Agnew and Taggart, and it looks like we will continue to be a selling club.

The recent criticism of the club by some people on here appears to be putting a clause in Muller's contract (or have we??). If there is a clause, then maybe it was put in at his request and he'd only sign for us by having that in his contract. If so, then although I'd hate to see him go you'd have to say it was good business with the money we've made in the short time he's been here. Also, would you have rather had him for half a season and sold him for £1m, or not had him at all and played Colgan for the past half of the season?

There was also someone on the 606 boards who stated '£1m for Muller - we'd never that another Muller type player for that much'. Hello!!!!! We bought the original Muller for under a 5th of that price! We just need to have faith in SD and his scouts.

As for the club should release a statement confirming whether there is a clause in his contract is just ludicrous. While we are at it maybe we should make it known which other players have clauses in their contract and what these clauses are to maek it easyier for any teams wanting to buy them!

Rant over - maybe I should start going out on New Years Eve

    Thank You Dragon

Where people think extra supporters are going to come from I've no idea!

One kind of promotion I think is needed is giving seats free to local football teams - some kind of thing where 13 kids can come with 1 adult (the manager). The Kid for Quid promotion is all good and well, but the only people willing to bring kids would be Reds supporters or neutrals. Little Johnny has no chance of his old man bringing him to Oakwell if his old man is Fowl or Blunt regardless of price. He's just going to follow the family tradition of being a dee-dar. We need to somehow find a way of getting the kids from families who may support Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Man Utd etc to break the family tradition and get down to the 'Well.
