I think our attendances are higher than the club announces! Some of what has been said below is accurate. People have got out of the habit of going! But I do think the club could do bettter on the PR front. People saying why bother Donny don't have massive crowds is utter nonsense.
This debate could go on until the cows come home, but speaking as a season ticket holder, most people who i have spoken to ( who use to go to Oakwell regular) say quite simply its the cost. When most of our income is spent on food , clothing and massive household bills. People have to put those priorities first, £60 for wife and two kids to watch a game of footy, come on!! Also to stump up £300in one lump is out of most peoples income. I don't know the real reason why fans stay away, but i'm sure that costs is a major factor.
I've been to most home matches this season! Have paid more than if I still had a season ticket! But then that is because I couldn't afford the lump sum. Thats just how it is!
the club pulled the plug on the payments offer to pay off season ticket over time, so imo thats there fault they lost some. They need to look at it as a whole the club is dull club inside, the football is great but the rest is simply 10 years behind the times
