are not as bad as are being made out! I suspect undereporting of figures by at least 500. Or the stewards are letting people in unrecorded which does happen.
"Or the stewards are letting people in unrecorded which does happen". Could you explain that statement, with some proof if possible.
What happens with erm shall we say the 'larger' fans or disabled that have to be let in via the exits instead of the turnstyles as normal? Any idea if they are still counted towards the attendance or not? (isn't there something like a counter on top of each turnstyle)
Each turnstyle has a counter that is linked to a computer in the Control Room so the flow of supperters into the ground can be counted. Anyone who cannot fit through a turnstyle is takin in through an exit gate and their ticket stub is given to a turnstyle operator for the final count.
FAO Conkotyke I'd like you to explain what you meant by ... "Or the stewards are letting people in unrecorded which does happen". You're stating a fact which means tyou have some evidence of theft.
Apologies My post was pure speculation. I was suggesting possible explanations for the crowd seeming larger than reported, especially at the Leicester game at the end of last season. Please accept my apologies for any offence caused.
The reason the crowd sometimes arrears larger is... ... that the club count season ticket holders in the crowd even if they don't attend. The attendance is made up from season ticket sales, matchday sales and cash payers on the day. This makes the final attendance. Plus any passes that may be given to Academy / Junior players etc
for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... if ever heaven forbid there was an incident requiring evacuation the safety officer has to account for the numbers
Yes they do.
The safety officer has the attendance figures. Tickets from the ST books + matchday ticket figure + pay on the day figure
OR - turnstile counter totals. Simps.

.

RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... For the first and last time Paul please listen. The computer in the Control Room counts the crowd as it comes through each turnstyle so the Safety Officer knows exactly how many fans are sat in each stand and how fast they are coming in the ground. And non attending season ticket holders are counted.
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... People were allowed to come in for the Leicester match not throughthe turnstiles! Thats why in the West Stand people were stood everywhere as they did not have a ticket for a seat. That is true. It was all fun and everything, but who allowed that to happen sundance?
So do the club have access to (and do they look at) information telling them how many fans are going into each stand an hour, half an hour early or say bang on 3pm? It would be interesting to see how many fans go into the East stand early where there is a bar compared to how many go into the ponty end early and a one off game with some proper pre match entertainment (advertised properly in advanced) too would be interesting to see if it gets fans in early or not.
RE: for the first last time they do not count non-attendees..... If they didn't come in through a turnstile, how did they get in the West Stand.
