Unlikely

They have a few teams who get big crowds (e.g. Barca, Real) but I wouldn't have thought the overall average would be higher (if it is it's because of those 2). Deportivo's ground only holds about 34,000 and it was far from full when they played Barca!

Good league to watch though (if Sky aren't showing the big 2 all the time)

Also, England has the highest supported lower leagues (i.e. outside the top division) of anywhere in the world.

    Interesting

Bundesliga higher than Premier league then.

Surprised to see that the US MLS is above the Brazilian league in average attendance.

Would be interesting to see how US College Football ranks against those as some of the crowds outstrip that of the NFL.....saw one the other week that had 85,000.

    Attendance in Britain

Wonder how many of those countries have 92 full time league clubs? If you go down the leagues in Britain you still find well supported teams - Forsest are averaging 20,000 people. It would be interesting to get a comparison across all of the leagues

None - I would have thought. Most countries don't really give a flying fig about leagues below the top one.

In that case would our premiership attendances be higher - likes of Darlington , Hartlepool fans go to Boro and sunderland .

The teams in London are split all over the place - would certainly boost Fulham and palace

    RE: Major league baseball....How many?

Baseball has always been by far the biggest attended team sport in the world. Big crowds and they play up to seven games a week during the season which lasts from April to about October.

About 120 games in the regular season - they play most days from mid April to early September

Very possibly - most fans in spain have 2 teams, their local team and a La liga team. If both are in the same city they watch both if they don't clash. The Getafe president still has a box at Real Madrid, been in the same league for the last 2 years!

RE: And ours complain at sometimes 2 a week!

I suppose it's more relevant to compare it to the number and frequency of games in cricket, think it's similar in terms of how often they play.
NHL ice hockey is probably a better comparison to football where they play 82 games in the regular season from October to March, often 3 or 4 games a week and they can play successive games including one at home and one away, this with all the physical hits they will take in a game as well. The level of concentration required as well whilst they are on the ice (they have regular "line" changes) would far surpass that in football.
