RE: I thought they were a reality in the late 1970's I got some from a comic - can't remember which one...
Scientists in Glasgow are working on devices that emit ultra high frequency light beams which via a system I don't understand at all give an image of items behind cloth, paper, plastic, but not denser materials. So for example if it is was your particular thing, you couldn't go and stand outside the changing rooms of a school and watch teenage girls in the showers. Which may come as a blow to certain individuals.

RE: I'll be round next Wednesday for my fitting More than a dollar I'll tell thi. This is my private island fund. Mwah hahaha.
RE: I thought they were a reality in the late 1970's Reading Bill Bryson's latest book about his childhood, as he says - would you really want x-ray vision that just stripped down the clothes? Breasts would look strange as they were squashed a little by the bra you can't see.
Bazooka Joe bubblegum always had offers for stuff if you saved up enough wrappers and sent a few pence. I ordered a set of x-ray specs back in those days. They never arrived. Typical!
Ne'er mind, I'll put you down for a pair. Then we can see if Eastander's hypothesis is true about squashed knockers.
Excellent, thank you. I'll get a copy of my lens prescription for you from my opticians.
When can I expect delivery and are they safe to use whilst driving?

As long as you aren't driving behind a cheap nasty car like a Citroen Saxo cos then you'll think there's just skeletons floating along the road.
But skeletons with squashed knockers none the less!
Hang on, how does that work then? You can see squashed knockers but when they are in a car they become skeletons?
Are you sure these are for real?

I suppose it is possible - in a manner Basically light does not get abosorbed at all wavelengths, so if you were able to focus at a certain distance (say on a nice pair of breasts, through a sweater) in a 'confocal' fashion and use the reflected light toproduce a modifiedimage it may work. Of course as I'm sure Dirk, Jay, Easty or any of the other regulars will tell you,one of the problems with confocal measurements is the broadening of the focal plane as a function of distance into an object. You'd probably find that the 'x-ray' specs (although you'd not really use x-rays - you'd use visible light so 'visible specs' would be more accurate) work best at very close proximity to the subject you're viewing. You'd have to bury your head in the jumper to get a good view, thus eliminating the possiblity of 'stealth perving' and increasing the possibility of a court case or a right good kicking from her big boyfriend / husband. I'd guess that there needs to be a big development on the rapid image analysis before they are commercially available.

Also, try mirrors on the tips of your shoes, or use army training methods and shine the tips of your shoes/boots with a hot spoon and spit and stuff. People will think you're just really well presented.
