Every other team in the Euros seems to have more energy and play at a faster pace than England. That was a cracking game to watch.
I think the header helped the goalkeeper. The bounce made the difference. He gets less on the header or doesn't head it down he beats the keeper.
Only 7 other countries on our continent can say they are still in the tournament though. Turkey deserved the win, but I don't think we have anything to worry about if they beat Holland.
Portugal and Belgium were absolutely dire yesterday. France weren't much better. It's not just England who's struggling to look purposeful and cohesive.
Disappointing that Austria didn't look as good as they had done in the Groups, and I can't and won't ever cheer for Turkey. Holland also looked better against a Romania team, who looked like they were just happy to be there.
England have played teams with a similar style Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Oddly enough a team with a bit more quality may suit England as they are willing to commit more players into an attack. Having said that, a world class team should be able to adapt and break down the opponent, we haven't done that any where near the level that we should have.
I don't like agreeing with Dion Dublin for example, but I hope he's right. He said on the highlights show, that the Swiss have been good so far, but are probably playing at their best right now. And that we however should be doing better and there's still hopefully that room for further improvement. Well yeah that goes without saying of course, but we've rarely showed that against all four opposing teams, so far!.
Agreed. We've got several more gears left in us. Whether we'll see them this tournament remains to be seen.
