https://www.transfermarkt.at/barnsl...ot-/amp/news/366360?__twitter_impression=true Google translate tells me that Struber will be unlikely to stay at Barnsley if current lockdown measures remain in place. Also says he is attracting interest from elsewhere, and that he wants to work for a team with ambition not just to fight against relegation. So now that we are all firmly convinced that he is the best thing since sliced butter the bugger is going to leave us!
Barnsley as always been a stepping stone. Only one bloke that was loyal to the club. Arrise Sir Rimmo.
I don't think it suggests he's leaving at all. The words could have been twisted. How do we know he doesn't want to steer Barnsley higher up?
I wouldn't worry from his post match comments the other night he sounded sure he was sticking around. It can't be easy for him being away from his loved ones though so to make it worthwhile to stick around it's clear we need to be more ambitious.
Much prefer to point people in the direction of the Chronicle interview before the game on Wednesday where he was all about staying and wanting to stay as a Championship manager.
Also the first paragraph..... Who is this Salzburg guy speaking on behalf of Struber? They should spell check before releasing articles.
Struber comes from Salzburg. That is why he is referred to as "der Salzburger", in the same way as Harry Kane might be referred to as "the Londoner".
Can you really blame him or any other ambitious coach for that matter.? I've supported the Reds since 1987 and have become weary of knowing we are likely to be swimming against the tide, season after season. As loyal fans we really do deserve better. Strubers statement just might be the wake up call our Board needs and they might now finally realise that they need to reconsider their longer term business plan. Football is all about entertainment. Traditionally it has been used by the fans as ninety minutes of relief at the end of the working week when we roll up and hopefully see attractive football culminating in a win for our team. Of late, it has not been much of a pleasure week in week out to see us entrenched in the bottom three in the division and to me, it's totally understandable that our loyal fans have expressed their frustration and discontent. I have felt exactly that way many times this season. Let's hope the Board finally get the message and give us a squad of players that at the very least are capable of holding its own in the Championship. Surely that's not a lot to ask for.?
That article is based upon his post match interview. It is another example of professional click bait.
Yeah, I was thinking that it’s very similar but with a slight twist on it to make it sound like he wants to leave. In my opinion, it was simply Struber saying he wants a break to go back and see his family in Austria and then that he has aspirations of not fighting relegation next season with us. He’s not really going to have any other mindset surely?!
The club doesnt match my ambition either and i nearly left, i didn't and have renewed. But to be honest any manager would want to better themselves and if thats matched by the ambition of the club great. Remember loyalty dies many years ago in football.
Austria has just reintroduced mandatory mask wearing in supermarkets and is looking at reintroducing some quarantine regulations. It can't have been easy though working in a different country to his family at this time. https://www.austria.info/en/service-and-facts/coronavirus-information
Gerhard should enjoy his break now cant recall a team bottom of the league for so long playing with such confidence and belief , Bielsa will rightly be awarded Championship manager of year but Strubers calm authority and tactical awareness turned hope into reality. Wonder what the owners are thinking now ?
