All this talk of the players saying playoffs is a target for the season is firstly a massive improvement on last season and secondly has anyone thought that they don't talk about automatic promotion in public becasue it gets our fickle fans hopes up who then if we don't achieve this want a change in management and personel? Reallistically they will think it is within touching distances but does that mean they have to shout it from the roof tops? Within the club they will think it is achieveable but like ritchie said after his interview at forest, we don't want to make a fuss but just go about our business quietly! people read far too much in to what the palyers say in interviews and then moan when it is not what they want to hear, are they been negitive with any of their comments? no! either way for me promotion is the target, either by the playoffs or auto and if this does not happen then so be it, that does not mean the season has been a waste as we have improved massively since last season!
Well said For me , this has been the best season since we were relegated in 2002 . I think there'll be a number of twists and turns before the end of the season , but I'm confident we will be promoted . However , anymore performances like Donny and we'll be going nowhere .
RE: Well said it seems to me that if we don't say we're going for automatic, we get slagged off, then if we say we're aiming for the playoffs we get slagged off, if we say donny is just another game we get slagged off, if we win but play below par we get slagged off if we lose but play out of our skin we get slagged off, if the strikers din't get a hat trick a game we get slagged off, if the chairman does not spend money we have not got we get slagged off, then we do and we all ask where it came from and we get slagged off!
I shouldn't say this, but, despite the hell of losing the last playoff, despite the fact that the playoffs is a lottery and we only have a 1 in 4 chance of going through.... I'd still love to see us play at the Millenium Stadium (assuming its there, Wembley hasn't got a chance of being ready). I went to support Hartlepool against the Piggies last year and it was awesome, the atmosphere around Cardiff was amazing, the stadium is fantastic and the atmosphere inside was electrying. I'd love us to take part in that, but only if we can be guarnateed of winning, don't want my heart broken again.
playoff season me and my dad went to wembley to watch England Argentina even though my dad said he would never go until Barnsley got there, but he thought what the hell and went anyway as it was due to be knocked down, then end of the season who would be playing at wembley for the first time in their history? typical isn't it?
RE: Well said Wath A realist for once, it`s just like talking to Kev. The club is never in a win situation. Reality check needed for some fans i`m affraid. Oh by the way its the same at Donny as well.
