How do I put an avatar on my posts?
What size should the picture/file be?
It says in my dictionary that an avatar is the descent to earth of a deity in incarnate form, so should I have it blessed before I stick it up there. (As the actress said to the Bishop)

    Thank you all.

Go to user control panel and add a internet link to the box below avatar, it will re-size the image for you.

Is it 'upload personal photo' or 'upload profile image'? I can't see avatar mentioned anywhere.

You're using the wrong link from Imageshack

You need the one that says something like "Direct link to image". The one you're using is a link to a page that includes the image, not the image itself.

No problem, but you might want to use a smaller picture

Resize it first, or let Imageshack resize it - that one's huge! It gets resized by the BBS but it takes ages to load on anything but really high speed connection.

RE: im doing it on photobucket

URL link looks the likely candidate.

    No problem

Burgundy Red's Avatar Surgery. We could make it a weekly event. It's even got a nice acronym (bras).

RE: What you need is . . .

Thanks, Burgundy. You're a gem! (although what Ryhilltyke is going to do with my avvy I'm not sure!) (respect)

Most of these problems aren't down to the control panel

They're down to the image hosting sites not being very clear about which link to use.

    Not sure what you mean

The post about your avvy was in a reply to your post, just below a reply from Ryhilltyke.

But anyway, glad it's sorted. Your avvy brought back memories of something my Nan (now sadly no longer with us) knitted for me with a number 10 on the back when David Hirst was playing for us.
